Airport & Ferry Transfers
There are no "taxis" on Great Barrier but shuttle buses are
available to take you to your accommodation when you arrive - you will
need to arrange this before you arrive.
Getting Around
There is no public transport on the island and no scheduled bus
timetables for GBI Shuttle Buses. Arrangements can however be made to take you
to beaches, DoC walking tracks, Hot Springs track etc. Our expert drivers all
live locally on the island and are happy to answer any questions you may have.

provide you with maps showing all the places of interest and recommend some of

Island Tours
Multiple transfers can be expensive so you might prefer to take a guided
tour of the island. Our local guides can show you the island in either a full or half
day tour. Places of interest include the Hot Springs, Windy Canyon, Port
Fitzroy Harbour, art gallery, museum, and more. See tour rates list below.
Private Charters
We can arrange travel for schools, fishing parties, conferences and
weddings or groups of up to 100 people.
